We are developing technology platforms and tools to assist with massive data research needs.
We are developing technology platforms and tools to assist with massive data research needs.
Understanding, identifying, and forecasting human events are interdisciplinary problems that may become tractable at the dawning of the age of big data; however, to address these issues, knowledge derived from data from a variety of sources and in myriad forms must be integrated to represent the complex sociotechnical systems within which we live. Moreover, security and privacy of these data must be addressed.
The Office of the Senior Vice President for Research at Georgetown University uses three such technological platform to support their current and future projects. These platforms are known as AvesTerra®, Expandable Open Source (EOS) Archive, and ATra®.
Secure data matching for enhanced HIV surveillance.
A pioneering secure digital system developed by Georgetown University that preserves privacy while addressing critical challenges in HIV surveillance data management.
A distributed analytics ecosystem for modeling complex sociotechnical systems.
AvesTerra® is an advanced knowledge-sharing platform developed at Georgetown University to model and analyze complex systems using big data. Designed for researchers, policymakers, and domain experts, AvesTerra® supports informed decision-making across critical areas of human health, security, and sustainability.
